Live Cattle were higher on Monday, Feeders were a touch lower. Much speculation abounds as traders and ranchers try to figure how Trump’s plan to lower beef prices may work out. Still no details, but my thought is that if South American import quotas are changed, in order to free up imports of beef from Argentina or Brazil, then they must be tied to additional Soybean purchases. Soybeans are a little firmer this morning, but the rest of the Grain markets are unchanged to a touch lower. Gold and Silver future are taking a beating today, as long traders take profits and run for the short-term exits. Both of those markets have been in very strong uptrends and are due for retracements.
