Our Ag Marketing Plan
Our program consists of you working one-on-one with a member of our agriculture management team to address the risks associated with your individual operation and develop a plan.
We don’t speculate on prices. We work with what we know to manage risk and keep you informed, helping you become a better marketer.

Executive Team
Bill Allen, Vice President Walsh Pure Hedge DivisionBill started on the floor of the CBOT in 1996 as a clerk in the soybean option pit. He became a member of the CBOT and a licensed Series 3 broker in 1998. Through relationships made on the trading floor, he filled customer and local orders in the soybean option pit for 20 years. He moved to the corn option pit in 2018, and continued to fill customer and local orders there, until the grain trading floor closed in March of 2020. He has traded futures and options on all of the grain products. Bill specializes in the grain complex and livestock markets with a focus on hedging risk in the option markets. Bill is now a senior account executive with Walsh Trading and is ready to work with customers to solve their unique trading and hedging goals.

Richard Moran, Senior Commodity Broker
Rich began his career in the futures industry in 1985 on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange working for an independent floor broker. He started as a spread-clerk in the interest rate quadrant quoting the many spreads within the Eurodollar and Treasury Bill markets.
A few years later, Rich became a floor broker himself in the spread market of the Eurodollars. He remained a floor broker on the trading floor executing spread orders through “open out-cry” until things started to wind down in the “pits” and the majority of the volume was going to the screens on Globex. From there, he traded his own account for a few years in those same interest rate spread markets.
Rich has greatly appreciated his transition into the agricultural markets, while continuing to focus on spreads. His communication skills, along with his attention to detail were among the strengths that contributed to his success in the intertest rate markets and he has transitioned these traits to the agricultural sector.
Rich has developed and maintained many strong relationships throughout the futures industry and continues to keep contact with those peers. He is very happy with his decision to join Walsh Trading and has found it to be a great working relationship.

Hans Schmit, Account Executive
Hans joined Walsh Trading as an Account Executive after working at a commodities research company focused on the Ag markets. He writes about futures markets daily and is continuing to expand his reach into new media outlets. Hans is a Series 3 licensed Broker who specializes in using futures and options to hedge risk for his clients. He uses a combination of fundamentals and technicals to help clients achieve their goals.
