5 Minutes on the Markets – 07/08/25

Jeff FosseGeneral Commentary

I post these videos every trading day, shortly after 8 AM CT. Check back here tomorrow for another update!

Livestock markets started the week on a strong note, with Feeder Cattle leading the way to close at new contract highs! Live Cattle still have a little way to go before setting new highs, the August contract needs another 4.15 higher from yesterday’s close. Grains remained weak, following Sunday night’s gap lower opening. Weather forecasts are good, which is excellent for crop development and not so much for prices. Favorable weather patterns have the analysts firing up their yield projection estimates, with the general expectations for higher production at harvest. Friday at 11 AM the USDA will release the July Crop Production and Supply/Demand reports. More flash sales just came across my screen…114k MT of Soymeal were sold the the Philippines along with nearly 113k MT of Corn to Mexico.
