DRY over all of Plains and Midwest with just a few weak showers over sw TX.  Moderate to heavy rains / storms over se TX into northern LA, central MS, central AL, northern GA, western SC/ NC into southern VA.

RAINFALL LAST 24 HRS — ending 0700 CDT 8 AUGUST   

Dry ALL of Midwest and most of lower Plains, but 0.25-2.0″/ 6-25mm over 50% of TX Panhandle… 1-4″/25-100mm over far southern TX into se TX with 60-70% coverage, 50% southern third of ARK … 70% LA, MS, AL  and 0.25-1.5″/ 6-38mm 60% coverage over northern GA, far se TN, NC and 1-4″/25-100mm over 70% central and eastern VA.

1-5 DAY – GFS, EURO & Canadian Models unchanged — DRY or mostly Dry OH, IND, ILL, IA, KY, eastern/ northern MO… light to mod rains 0.50-1.5″/ 12-38mm over 40-50% of WI, MN, eastern SD, NEB… 1-4″/25-100mm large area 50% of western NEB, 70% of KS, OK, southwest MO, ARK, LA, MS, AL, GS, DC, NC.

6-10 DAY – Most rains stay south of I-70… close to I-40 1-3″/25-75mm rains NC, SC, GA, AL, MS, TN, ARK, north LA, north TX, eastern OK… some areas could see 4-5″/ 100-125mm.

Key change — GFS & EURO ENSEMBLES has 0.25-1.0″/ 6-25mm into 60% of KS, MO, IA, eastern NEB, eastern SD/ eastern ND, MN.

11-15 DAY – GFS ensemble somewhat wetter over all of Midwest — especially over WCB… while the Euro is about the same as the last 2 runs with 0.50-1.5″/ 12-38mm.
