It’s a different year in the grains! Typically, we’re looking at the threat of dry weather and problems with corn pollination and benefits to wheat harvesting. As we approach first notice day against the July futures and the planting and stocks report on June 28 there is fear and concern that things may get very tight in the East and Southeast in the feed market in August/September/ October and beyond. We are hearing of South American origin corn working into the Eastern Seaboard as well as the probability of wheat being incorporated into the feed ration. These factors will have a significant influence on spread direction as well as flat price!
Not for the faint of heart! Weather is the dominant factor, which is typical, yet we have valid concerns and forecast changes might spark major moves! Stay tuned at all times! This market can make fast turns!
